Halotherapy
Halotherapy or salt chamber therapy is a way to restore your airways and skin and relieve symptoms related to skin and lung diseases.
In a salt room or cave, the microclimate of the salt mines from the Mediterranean area is simulated. Dry microscopic particles of salt with antibacterial effect are atomized in the room where it is constantly 22° and have a high healing capacity. Because these salt particles are so tiny, they can penetrate the deepest respiratory tract. This treatment is 100% natural, relieves the symptoms of skin and lung disorders and improves lung function.
Experience shower
One of the showpieces in the Hof van In is the experience shower. The place where Scandinavian stimuli alternate with exotic sensations. You enter a magical atmosphere of light effects, water and the scents of healing essential oils. This experience shower promotes your blood circulation and strengthens your body.
Healing in four phases
- Phase 1
A cool arctic mist that gives off the aroma of mint under blue light - Phase 2
Hot soothing water massage that gives the feeling of a tropical storm with citrus scents under red light - Phase 3
Two water leaves with a mixture of rose scent, lavender and ylang-ylang under green light - Phase 4
A tepid waterfall to end the session with yellow light
Hamam
The wellness complex of the Hof van In also has a Turkish steam bath or Hammam. A dense warm mist embraces you in a 50° room and spreads a heat stimulus over your entire body. This gives a very different feeling than a Finnish sauna because the heat transfer occurs through the condensation heat that is released on your skin. The hot mist with medicinal herbs will open your pores and purify your skin as the sweat removes waste from your body. Your tired muscles will relax completely and enjoy better blood circulation. The steam filling the room will also improve your breathing and clear your airways.
A session lasts between 10 and 20 minutes and the treatment lasts for about a week. If you regularly have a cold, it is a good idea to take a Turkish steam bath every week because it increases your resistance and protects your airways against unwanted invaders. Depending on your comfort level, you can adjust the temperature while enjoying healing light therapy.
Infrared bench
In a dry sauna, on our infrared bench, your body receives heat directly from the infrared radiation. The temperature is lower than in a regular sauna and is between 40 and 50°C. This heat is more bearable and your body does not need to be cooled down afterwards. So you will not feel stuffy, something that sometimes happens with a classic sauna. Your skin is warmed up by the sun, which also causes you to perspire. 80% of the heat goes to the environment, the other 80% will warm your body. You will feel when your session is over and you get off the couch. After a session on the infrared couch, it is best to take a lukewarm to warm shower.
Footbath
When you take a warm foot bath while you cool down after the sauna, you increase the effect. It is best to start with a cold foot bath that removes the heat you have stored from your body. Then you take a warm foot bath so that your blood vessels dilate again and blood circulation in the skin is stimulated. The heat is dissipated to the core of your body, where the temperature rises by 1 to 2 °C due to the sauna.
